The companies announced the acquisition on Sunday, in advance of the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Intelerad develops enterprise workflow solutions, while Clario is a \u201czero footprint\u201d worklist company. Plans are for development of a combined product expected to augment Intelerad\u2019s enterprise imaging solutions with Clario\u2019s zero footprint worklist, in an effort to better meet the needs of radiology practices and health systems.

\u201cOur vision is to free up health systems and radiology practices from the limitations of legacy imaging IT systems, and provide modern, secure and highly scalable cloud-based solutions,\u201d says Fran\u00e7ois Laflamme, chairman of the board of Intelerad, \u201cWe are excited about the prospect of rapidly expanding our zero footprint capabilities towards a fully cloud-based radiology workstation with the Clario solutions. For the providers that are looking for a modular approach, we will continue to evolve and offer Clario\u2019s universal worklist as a vendor-neutral platform.\u201d
