WakeMed will use Premier\u2019s performance improvement and supply chain services to reduce the cost of care, examine care delivery utilization and variation patterns, compare outcomes against peer organizations, better understand and optimize value-based purchasing, and identify and prioritize future opportunities for improvement.

WakeMed is a member of America\u2019s Essential Hospitals, a group of 300 teaching facilities that cater to the most vulnerable populations. Financial terms of the alliance between Premier and WakeMed were not disclosed.
